    We hand-make all of our pieces. This includes cutting and polishing each stone from the rough and fashioning the solid silver components. When we occasionally use a pre-made finding it is always quality, solid sterling silver and we are always completely transparent.

    We want to create jewelry that is everyday wearable art in a contemporary style. Our focus is to bring you something that is unique - something that you can wear to work, on a web meeting, to the store, or out on the town. We prefer clean natural lines, inspired by nature, and we strive to incorporate that in our work.

    The stones used in our jewelry are ethically sourced and completely natural. With only a very few exceptions they are not treated in any way and the colors are never enhanced. We let you know exactly what stone is in your jewelry and where it came from to create a personal connection with the history of your jewelry.

How we make our pieces

THE PROCESS

Jim uses a diamond saw blade to first cut each stone to find the best color and patterns hidden inside. A rough shape is cut out and then it goes to diamond wheels to shape and finish - rough, medium, and fine diamond wheels and finally polish, actually 7 steps in all, before the stone is transformed into a beautifully polished gemstone.

Merry does most of the silver work, custom making a setting for each stone. She cuts, forms, solders, hammers, files and polishes the silver. We only use sterling (.925) and fine (.999) solid silver. When we use a pre-made silver component like ear wires, a bead, or the bezels in the Colorspot collection, Merry incorporates those solid silver parts into our design, sets the stone by hand, and then carefully finishes the piece.

We are making this jewelry because we enjoy the process and want to offer something unique to our customers and friends.

THE STONES

Every piece we do is one of a kind since each stone is natural and unique. The stones we use are from a lifetime of personal collecting or sourced directly from small, artisanal miners and rock hounds primarily in America. For a few rarer stones from around the globe, we source from reputable miners and sellers, and only in the rough, so that we can be sure the stones have not been colored or altered. In this way you know that you are getting an authentic, untreated stone and we can tell you exactly where it came from. Isn’t it fun to find a beautiful creation and the stone is actually from your home state, or where you went on vacation?
